Bunney Build Update
Week of July 27: The Habitat main office will be closed Thursday July 30 and Friday 31st. On the build site, it looks like the summer heat will return later this week, so we will continue with starting work at 0800 and quitting early if necessary. There are 2 scheduled work days this week. Thursday emphasis will be on the roof and north side (windows, belly band and trim). Lunch on your own. Saturday 1 Aug: Work at Bunney house starting 0800; lunch will be provided. Keep cool, Brent Bradberry,Construction Committee Chair

You can help! Individuals visit Sign Up Genius or Sign Up Genius-Lunches to help build or bring a build day lunch now through the end of December. No experience or tools necessary - just a willing heart and hands! Most build days are Saturdays - other days available on request. For large groups, to be added to an email update list, or more information, email

Urgent: Lunches needed for Habitat build site. We have a steady group of building volunteers, but we have a real need for lunches provided on Saturdays on the build site. It can be as simple as peanut butter sandwiches, an apple and a cookie. Some lunch providers are excellent cooks and like to bring everything from soups and stews in cold weather, to homemade pizza, salads & desserts. Others call in an order for fried chicken to Winco, pick up apples, chips, rolls & cookies to go with it. If cost is an issue, just save your receipt and Habitat can reimburse you. We let you know by Friday afternoon how many to expect. A typical work crew is 8-12 people. Lunch is served at 11:30, but that can be a little flexible if needed (for example, you could drop a cooler off in the morning). We also have volunteers who would be willing to pick up and deliver a prepared lunch. The location is 427 Greensides Place in Moscow. We need lunches almost every Saturday starting this Saturday through the end of the build (in December). Please consider this ministry - it really makes a difference for our hardworking volunteers. Thank you Habitat Supporters for another successful Bean "n" Jeans! We raised close to $60,000! After expenses, and a tithe to Habitat International to build a home in Guatemala and provide emergency assistance in Nepal, we have $40,000 which leaves only about $15,000 to raise to complete the Bunney home build.

Thank you IdahoGives donors! You generously raised $625 for the Bunney family home!

Thank you Moscow Giving Circle for granting Palouse HFH and Family Promise of the Palouse $2880 to run a pilot financial education program for local low income families.

United Way of Moscow/Latah County awarded $2000 to support the PHFH Home Repair program in 2015! Thank you United Way!

Habitat for Humanity is a hand up, not a hand out! Our partner families must contribute 300-500 hours working on their home (sweat equity), save a $1000 down payment AND purchase the home from Palouse Habitat for Humanity. Palouse HFH sets a zero-interest mortgage based on the cost of materials to build the home. Those payments help build the next home. Why no interest? Exodus 22:25 If you lend money to one of my people among you who is needy, do not be like a moneylender; charge him no interest.
