Beans ‘n’ Jeans Moves Online!
After postponing from our original date in April, there is nothing we would rather do on August 22nd than gather with you, dish up a plate of BBQ, and raise $100,000 to build the Uniontown 2020 home. But the risks from Covid-19 are too great. So, what to do? Thanks to our generous community, we already have the auction items ready to go. We already have the sponsors supporting us. And vulnerable members of our community need safe affordable housing, now more than ever. So we’re doing the best we can with the situation at hand, “making lemonade when life hands you lemons” as the old saying goes. We’re taking Beans ‘n’ Jeans 2020 online, and we hope you’ll join us.
What does Beans ‘n’ Jeans online look like?
- Asking our supporters to Raise the Roof! The link to the auction website is live at palousehabitat.org and any Habitat supporter can donate from now until August 23rd at midnight. 100% of these Raise the Roof paddle raise donations will go to build the home in Uniontown.
- Making lemonade with a silent auction – Our silent auction will begin Saturday, August 15th at 5:00 PM and end on Saturday, August 22nd at 5:00 PM. When we cancelled in April, we had 90% of our donations in-hand. We’ve checked with all donors, and some items are on hold due to the economic situation. - We will celebrate online on Saturday, August 22nd at 7:00 PM with a brief, 15-minute Facebook Live Event. We invite all Habitat supporters to this event to see the progress in Uniontown and hear about what we achieved with Beans ‘n’ Jeans. Look for further updates in August on the Facebook Live event.
