2024 Homeowner Announcement
Palouse Habitat for Humanity announces two Habitat homeowners and the beginning of
2024 home construction in Moscow and Uniontown
Moscow, Idaho. (May 17, 2024) — Palouse Habitat for Humanity has selected the families for its 24th and 25th
homes. Construction will begin this summer in Moscow and early this fall in Uniontown. Updates will be
posted on www.palousehabitat.org. This marks the beginning of Palouse Habitat for Humanity’s plans to build
two homes each year. To volunteer to help build the homes, register online at www.palousehabitat.org.
Jake Austin and his sons enjoy hunting for old video games at thrift stores. “This Habitat home means the world
to me. It means I’m able to grow with my family instead of just surviving with my family. A huge weight has
been lifted off my shoulders, and I’m able to focus on the small things instead of always worrying about the
large things,” Austin shared.
Kaylee Jones is a mother of six who loves sports, outdoor adventures, and being creative with her kids. “We
feel so blessed to partner with Palouse Habitat for Humanity for our future home. This means everything to our
family. This home will provide the kids and me with a safe and secure place to meet our unique needs as a large
family. We will have the opportunity to create a home where we can carry out our daily routines and yearly
traditions,” Jones shared.
Palouse Habitat for Humanity’s annual fundraiser, Beans ‘n’ Jeans, raised $168,000 to start construction on the
homes. The Austin and Jones homes are expected to cost $230,000 and $260,000, respectively, so there are still
funds to be raised to complete construction.
