On Sunday, August 17, 2025, from 1:00 to 2:00 PM, the community will gather at 565 Umatilla Court in Pullman, Washington, for a very special milestone — the wall raising ceremony for Jake and Shayla’s future home.

This event marks a major step in the journey toward their safe, stable, and affordable home. It’s more than construction — it’s a celebration of hard work, partnership, and the power of neighbors coming together.

What to Expect
The afternoon will begin with a short ceremony and blessing for the home and family. Afterward, the first walls will be raised, marking the moment Jake and Shayla’s dream begins to take shape.

Put Love in the Walls
Following the ceremony, everyone is invited to grab a marker and write directly on the wooden studs inside the home. You can sign your name, share words of encouragement, or leave a heartfelt message. These notes will remain within the walls, surrounding the family with love and community support for years to come.

Why Wall Raisings Matter
A wall raising is one of the most memorable milestones in any Habitat build. It’s the first time a home begins to stand, and it’s an inspiring reminder of the teamwork that makes affordable housing possible in the Palouse region.

We invite friends, neighbors, volunteers, and supporters to join us for Jake and Shayla’s wall raising in Pullman. Come celebrate this incredible family and help put the finishing touches of love on the walls of their future home.
