Construction/Home Repair Update:
Good morning;
There are two workdays scheduled for this week.
Wed 1 Sept: Meet at the south warehouse at 0800. We plan a porch repair in Pullman, and if time permits we’ll construct 2 or 3 more wooden ramp modules. Lunch on our own.
Thurs 2 Sept: Work begins at 0800 at the Uniontown build site. We expect to install windows and paint trim at the Hansen home, and we may do some interior work at the Leaseburg home (closet doors, trim). Masks are required for inside work. We’ll also do a thorough cleanup of the build site to prepare for a ceremonial WSU Wall Raising at the Hansen home at 2:00 PM. The ceremony will be about 30 minutes long – all of us are invited, and we ask that masks are worn (except for those who are speaking). Lunch on our own.
The final walls will be raised on the Hansen home on Thursday, September 2 at 2:00 pm at the Uniontown build site celebrating the first partnership home with Washington State University to study practical ways to create affordable, energy efficient housing.
Palouse Habitat Surplus Sale – Open 10:00 to 5:00 PM Wednesday through Saturday at 304 North Main, but we are closed this coming Saturday in observance of Labor Day. We have returned to mandatory masking in the store, please obey all posted signs. Thanks for keeping our staff and your fellow shoppers safe! A huge thanks to our store shoppers and donors – after last week, it looks like we may have a new record on our hands and have set a new record for the best month in store history!
The Habitat office is open Monday-Friday 10:30 to 2:30 PM. Some staff may be working remotely.
