PHFH weekly update, 7/26/2022

Palouse Habitat Update for 7.26.22, with picture of some WSU football players (thanks Washington State University Athletics!) that helped out at the Martinez Home site on the 16th:

Construction/Home Repair Schedule:
There are three work days scheduled this week.
Wed 27 July: Meet at the south warehouse at 0800. We’ll build a few wooden ramp modules and if time permits we’ll install one small ramp in Pullman. Lunch on our own.
Thurs 28 July: Work starts at the Martinez build site at 0800. Foundation work: backfilling, installing mudsill, laying visqueen. Lunch will be provided (Thank you Connie Hall).
Sat 30 July: Continuing work at the Martinez build site starting at 0800. We’ll start laying joists. Lunch on our own.
Notes:
1. An excessive heat warning is in effect. Be careful – use sunscreen, dress accordingly, drink lots of water, rest often. No heroics; please don’t overdo it.
2. Our future build site in Palouse is overgrown with weeds, and they need to be whacked down ASAP. If you are in or near Palouse and have a weedwhacker, it will be great if you could help knock down the weeds, on your own schedule. For more information, contact Brent Bradberry, Dave Ostrom, or Dave Stradley.

Palouse Habitat Surplus Sale Update from manager Eldon:
Wow! What a week, and I am glad it is over. Thanks to our Christmas in July Sale, we raised $9367.46 for the week! OUTSTANDING! We crushed last year’s sales total and cleaned up a lot of space in the store. “Thank You” to everyone involved in this task. No possible way we could get this done without you!

The Palouse Habitat office is open 10:30 to 2:30 Monday-Friday but with the summer staffing can vary so call ahead at 208-883-8502. We’re beginning our search for a new part-time Social Media & Marketing Coordinator – if you know anyone who’d be a good fit, have them reach out to us.
