Palouse Habitat Surplus Sale Expands Hours
Moscow, Idaho. (August 3, 2022) — The Palouse Habitat Surplus Sale, the Palouse’s source for affordable home improvement and repair materials, is expanding hours to better serve the community.
The Palouse Habitat Surplus Sale is located at 304 N. Main Street in Moscow. It is now open 10:00 am to 6:00 pm Tuesday through Saturday. The Surplus Sale sells donated home improvement and repair items, including lumber, plumbing, electrical, appliances, antiques, furniture and more.
“The store always has a few shoppers rushing in right at 4:59, so we expanded our hours to 6:00 pm to try to serve them better. If it’s popular we’ll keep it that way,” shared Eldon Hodges, Surplus Sale Store Manager. “It’s nice to be open Tuesdays again. We appreciate our staff and volunteers who make it possible.”
Funds raised through the sale of donated materials are used to support Palouse Habitat for Humanity home building and home repair projects for families in need of safe, affordable housing around the Palouse.
About Palouse Habitat for Humanity
Palouse Habitat for Humanity is the local affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International, and has been building simple, decent, affordable housing in Latah and Whitman counties since 1992. Its mission is to serve our neighbors in need by helping eliminate poverty housing on the Palouse and worldwide. Palouse Habitat just completed its 21st home and has started construction on Home #22 in Moscow. Habitat homes are built with volunteer labor and help from the future homeowner. Habitat homeowners are selected based on need, willingness to help build the home (including up to 500 hours of “sweat equity”), and specific income criteria including the financial ability to purchase the home from Palouse Habitat after completing their partnership requirements.
